Elizabeth Olmstead has always been a storyteller, but it wasn’t until 2015 that she found her identity as a filmmaker. Raised in Oklahoma and resident of Nashville, TN, for well over a decade. Elizabeth began working as a Director of Photography in 2015, learning and gaining valuable experience in the music video and commercial world. Working with clients like Spotify, Facebook, The Red Cross, Warner Brothers, Atlantic, Universal, Capitol, and Sony Music Records. In the Fall of 2019, Elizabeth worked as the series DP on the ESPN+ show “The Harderway” with showrunners Ryan Booth and Henry Proegler. Through working on the series, she gained experience and passion for long-form, episodic content. In 2020, Elizabeth made the decision to transition into Directing full-time.
She has since worked with artists like The Highwomen (Brandi Carlile, Maren Morris, Natalie Hemby, and Amanda Shires), Carrie Underwood, Needtobreathe, and The Lone Bellow. As well as brands such as Uber, Tinder, Delta Airlines, Vanderbilt University, HCA, and Cracker Barrel. She pitches non-exclusively with several different production companies across the United States and finds that her best work is done with collaborators who want to lead and create through the perspective of empathy and connection.
She is currently developing several personal projects in both the scripted and non-scripted spaces, all of which she’d love to tell you about! When not working, Elizabeth enjoys and is constantly on the search for the perfectly made margarita and taking long walks with her dog, Hopper.
